A ScrumMaster will start from working with one team. Most of the companies will have a full-time position, but sometimes a developer, that know Agile Practice will be doing role part-time. Having few years of experience is possible to move to Senior ScrumMaster position, handling multiple teams or Agile Mentor that coach other ScrumMasters. Another possible direction is if you like the product that the Team is developing, and you have the expertise, you can move to Product Owner role.

Responsibilities

ScrumMaster uses Agile Practices to help the Development Team to create high-value shippable software product in each cycle by coaching and finding techniques in order to clarify goals and actions to achieve them. He/she is an expert in understanding and practicing agility.

List of typical Responsibilities of ScrumMaster:

  • facilitate meetings to monitor project progress and resolve any issues;
  • use Scrum tools to track the progress and communicate with the team;
  • create project outlines and timelines;
  • remove project obstacles to ensure milestones project delivery by milestones;
  • helps product owner with product backlogs.
  • document progress and communicate to upper management and stakeholders.
